Gradin ensures a safe operation when using our lifting equipment. We also offer advanced safety features designed to protect the particular needs of the customer’s application, as well as safety products that further protect your personnel, equipment, and operating zone.

SAFETY GUARDS & HANDRAILS
Gradin offers safety guards and handrails that are customizable to meet the safety requirements of your application.
SAFETY MATS
Pressure-sensitive mats connected to the equipment control panel ensure that workers are located in the safe zone.
BEVEL TOE-GUARDS
Beveled toe guards protect the worker’s feet and toes during the operation of the lift.
HANGING TOE INDICATOR SKIRT
A safety skirt material that hangs down from the protected sides of the platform and includes a weight rod.
ELECTRIC TOE-GUARD
Electric toe-guards are made to stop the lift from downward travel if any obstruction is in its path.
NON-SKID WALKING SURFACE
Platforms are constructed with a tread-plate or by applying a slip-resistant paint finish.
VELOCITY FUSES
Hydraulic Velocity Fuses completely stop lifts in the unlikely event of uncontrolled descent due to sudden hose rupture.
TRAVEL LIMIT SWITCH
This is one of the most common devices for limiting travel which can be set for almost any desired position of travel.
UP-STOP VALVE
This valve uses the hydraulic system to stop the up travel of the lift and shut off the fluid to the cylinders.
PHOTO-EYE
A photo-eye sensor uses a beam of light to detect the presence of an object and stop the lift from any further movement.
LIGHT CURTAINS
Optic-electronic fences, or detection devices, detect personnel or large objects when they pass through the sensing field.
ACCORDION SKIRTS (BELLOWS)
Accordion skirts serve to keep dust, dirt, and other debris from obstructing the lift’s vital operating functions.
SAFETY ENCLOSURE SYSTEM
Gates or enclosure panels prevent personnel in the lift operating zone and keeps them from being beneath the lift.
FOOT ACTIVATED FLOOR LOCKS
Foot activated floor locks are commonly used on lifts with transport bases and are mounted to the base frame.
COLLISION DETECTION
Used on traversing equipment when the traversing envelope is out of view, or in an automated/semi-automated application.
AUDIBLE SIGNALS
Audible signals provide a warning sound that the lift equipment is moving and can be tuned to match the area’s noise level.
FLASHING LIGHTS
An indicator light provides a warning that the lift equipment is moving by creating a visual notification for awareness.
SAFETY WINGS
Safety or locking wings to prevent a Bascule Bridge from drifting or lowering while in use.
