Speed
The speed of a lift’s operation is determined by capacity, travel, and actuation.
All lifts have a standard operating speed for raising and lowering the platform based on those design elements. In some applications, there are times when it is necessary to modify the speed. We offer simple and reliable solutions for modifying operating speeds for high and low power, industrial, and precision lift applications.

HYDRAULIC – LOW SPEED
Gradin typically slows the speed of a hydraulic lift by adding flow control valves.

MECHANICAL – LOW SPEED
Gradin can reduce the output speed on mechanical lifts by adjusting the motor horsepower and gearbox reducer.

PNEUMATIC – LOW SPEED
Lower speeds can be achieved on pneumatic lifts by regulating the air pressure.

HYDRAULIC – HIGHER SPEED
A higher horsepower electric motor or a higher volume fluid pump with a larger fluid reservoir increases the speed.

MECHANICAL – HIGHER SPEED
High speed is achieved by an increase in horsepower or an upgrade to the gearbox.

PNEUMATIC – HIGHER SPEED
The raising speed of a pneumatic lift can be increased with added air pressure.

HYDRAULIC – FIXED SPEED
Fixed speed can be controlled by the flow rate the pump delivers during operation.

MECHANICAL – FIXED SPEED
Fixed speed for mechanical actuation is achieved by adjusting the gearbox.

PNEUMATIC – FIXED SPEED
Gradin offers flow controls and pressure regulators for a precise volume flow.

HYDRAULIC – VARIABLE SPEED
Variable speeds for a hydraulic lift system can be driven by varying the pump output or using a flow control valve.

MECHANICAL – VARIABLE SPEED
Variable speed can be controlled on a mechanically actuated lift by utilizing a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive).
